Coaching

Coach Julagay has been a transformative force in youth baseball since he began his coaching career in 2018. Under his guidance, Washington A's offense skyrocketed from a .213 to a remarkable .314. Over four seasons, he led his teams to 250+ wins across seven age groups and successfully committed more than 30 athletes to NCAA and NWAC programs. His offensive approach and leadership has helped jumpstart offenses, and develop next level hitters. At Pierce College, his leadership resulted in a consistent increase in wins, culminating in a near NWAC tournament appearance with a 35-10 record in 2021, while also helping players advance to Division I and professional baseball opportunities. Coach Julagay has assisted with University of Washington (D1 Seattle, WA) baseball training operations and was a hitting coach/infield coach with the Seattle Mariners Training facility. In 2021, Coach moved to Chattanooga where he joined the staff at Chattanooga State. In 3 seasons with the Tigers, the program was on top of the TCCAA conference winning 122 games in that short time, and winning a conference title in year 1. At the college level, he has won over 250 games in just 8 short years. In that span, his programs have seen a total of 3 kids drafted, and 1 of those reaching the major leagues.

His progressive development plan has reformed baseball development in the greater Chattanooga area, serving over 50 athletes across the area as a private hitting, Infield and catching coach. Coach has had 2 catchers serve time with MLB clubs, and one who is in minor league baseball, as a catcher player development coach with major league baseball.

Playing Career

Coach Julagay attended Timberline High School, a renowned 3A powerhouse in Lacey, Washington. As a three-year varsity starter, he earned all-conference honors twice and was recognized as a two-time All-State player. During his time at Timberline, the team reached the 3A/4A State Championship Finals each season. His college career began at Everett CC in 2013 where he led the team in ERA until Tommy John surgery ended his season short. After recovering from surgeries, he transferred to Green River CC, playing in both the outfield infield. Following a successful 2016 season with .302 batting average in an all-wood bat conference, Julagay moved on to NCAA DII Bemidji State University, where he started in center field and hit leadoff for the Beavers. In 2017 with the SCL Govs, he led the SCL in offense, boasting a .375 batting average along with 3 home runs, 15 doubles, and 40 RBIs in 40 games.

With a Master's Degree in Sport and Athletic Administration from Central Washington University, his most recent stint was serving as the Assistant Coach at Chattanooga State. His baseball focus is on recruiting, catchers, infielders and hitters while being an active member of the Chattanooga community for four years. Coach Julagay is married to his wife Lindsey, a teacher in the Hamilton County School District. Together, they are dedicated to the growth of the youth sports, the community and athletics.

"Coach started working with our son when he was brand new to baseball. He was not seeing a lot of playing time. Our son was behind in every aspect of the game. Throwing, catching, hitting did not come naturally to him. He would set up age appropriate training sessions and explain it so our young son could understand. He would video parts of the training and explain how we as parents work with him and help him improve.

Fast forward to the next season of baseball. Our son saw the field more, he hit in the middle of the lineup, and even was pitching off the mound.

Coach Julagay has since moved but still takes an active role in our son’s baseball experience. Our son, now 14, still maintains a mentor/ friend relationship with him. Thanks to him Tanner has a deep love of baseball, the work ethic required to succeed, and the baseball IQ beyond his years.
Tanner is now a staring pitcher, plays middle infield, 3rd base, and is a regular middle of the lineup hitter.
We highly recommend that anyone entering baseball for their first season or looking for a positive player forward environment for their son to reach out to Coach Julagay. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
We are forever grateful for Coach Julagay."

“Coach Julagay is a defensive Guru. I credit my defensive ability entirely to him. If I hadn’t had this guy helping me out and pushing me as a kid, I’m not sure I’d be where I am today. Parents and Players should have no worries signing up to play for this guy, you will get your money’s worth!”

Testimonials

“Coach Julagay is the offensive WIZARD! He is able to see gaps in players swings, analyze and develop a plan to fix swings from the ground up. His linear approach to hitting is next level, and the hitters he has moved to division 1 and onto professional baseball is next level. In my 5th pro ball season and I still reach out to him in the offseason for advice. If you want to take offensive approach based swing mechanics and your offensive development to the next level, he is your guy! His approach is simple, consistent, and will teach you how to hit at all levels of the game! Thank you Coach for getting me to where I am in my career."
